This is how to do a back spin. It's a basic power move, but it's very crucial for all your power moves. We're going to start it off with the pilot position, pilot/tabletop. Remember, so many different names for all these different moves. We're going to do that little hand glide, and then we're going to go right into a windmill position. Here we are. Tabletop, once we put our hand here, we're going to use the momentum to spin on this part of our hand, and slowly go onto our shoulder. Check it out. Here we spin, shoulder, onto our back. That's a back spin. Now, how do we get onto our shoulder? That's the hard part. Once we get on our shoulder, we're going straight to our back. Here, what we're going to is once we spin, we're going to pick ourselves up a little bit and then slide our hand like that. We're going to slide our hand up to our forearm onto our arm, and then right onto our shoulder. Easier said than done. Here we go. Hand glide, shoulder, back spin. Let's do it faster. Here a little, back spin. You want to get a stronger whip, you would have to do it on top, which would be like this. That's a back spin, my friend. Once you get onto your back, after that whole motion that I just showed you, it is very important that you have your legs open and you gradually bring them in. You want to go from an open position into a ball. You want to be like a little ball. And, you want to be on your spine. Basically, you want to be on your spine, because like I said, just like physics, the less surface area that you're spinning on, the faster you go. You don't want to be on your whole back. You want to be on a little tiny part of your back. You want to crunch in as much as you can. Here we go.

In this video I compare the backhand topspin vs backspin technique of an amateur player (myself) with the forehand topspin vs backspin technique of a professional player (England No.1 Liam Pitchford). This is a tricky shot, but Liam makes it look ridiculously easy. Liam is able to play an incredibly fast and aggressive backhand topspin shot, but how is he able to do this? To help us work it out, I use some side-by-side slow motion analysis. This helps see how Liam uses a different swing trajectory, more wrist and a dynamic stance to produce a faster backhand topspin shot. There is also some footage of me trying to return Liam's very fast backhand topspin attacks. Lange war es ruhig um Trettmann: Seit dem “DIY” Nachfolger-Album “Trettmann” releaste der Leipziger nurnoch ganz vereinzelt Tracks. Zwischenzeitlich verbreiteten sich sogar Gerüchte um einen Bruch mit dem Produzententeam Kitschkrieg und um ein Karriere-Aus. Das Alles wird jetzt Thema: Niko hat sich mit Trettmann in Berlin getroffen. Anlass war sein kommendes Album “Insomnia”, das offiziell letzte gemeinsame Projekt mit Kitschkrieg. Wie aus einer Schreibblockade und einem Meer an desperate Lovesongs am Ende ein ganzes Album wurde, wie Trettmann seine Trennung verarbeitet hatte und was für ihn der Schlüsselmoment war, zu realisieren dass er jetzt in die Rolle eines Vaters schlüpfen muss, waren nur ein paar von den Themen die Niko mit Tretti aufgearbeitet hat.
