Prefurred Plus for DOGS: 🤍 Prefurred Plus for CATS: 🤍 Petcor Flea Spray: 🤍 See how to treat your pets for fleas by clicking this link: 🤍 * Solutions has come up with a 4-step flea treatment program that was developed from years of experience in both application and selling insecticides through our stores. We are 100% confident that the below program will rid any flea infestation and offer a guarantee on it. If for some reason the program does not 100% get rid of your fleas in 30 days, give us a call and we will figure out another solution and provide it FREE. Step 1: The first step in any flea program is to treat the source. If you are a homeowner then there are two possibilities, you have a pet bringing them in, or they are hitching a ride in on your pant-leg while you are in the yard. For these reasons we recommend treating your pet with a topical flea treatment, Prefurred, or a flea spray such as Petcor so they do not continue to spread the infestation. Step 2: The second part of this is to treat the yard with a granular or liquid insecticide. Fleas get introduced to your yard by wildlife, rodents, stray animals, etc. and using Bifen LP or Reclaim IT will prevent establishment of the infestation when the wildlife comes back around. Typically, exterior applications need to be made every 90-120 days to prevent future problems. Step 3: Indoors we recommend using Novacide. Novacide is the only 100% guaranteed flea spray for broadcast indoor use. One can will treat 2,600 square feet. To use it, hold the can upside down and spray 24-36" above the flooring surface. You will want to treat 100 sq.ft. in 10 seconds and if you are spraying too wet you are overapplying. Make sure to coat all flooring surfaces, hardwood, carpet, and tile as fleas do not care where they live. Leave the house until the product is dry. Step 4: This is the MOST IMPORTANT STEP. You will need to vacuum all flooring surfaces every other day and dispose of the bag or rinse out the canister. This will decrease time expected in elimination. We do need to stress that it will get worse before it gets better. To help decrease the number of fleas hatching, we recommend vacuuming every day. After application you will have 7 months of protection, as Novacide puts down an IGR, which prevents re-infestation even if new adult populations are introduced into the environment. Typically, if someone applies an exterior treatment twice a year and an interior treatment twice a year, they will never have any flea issues. P.S. This application also prevents silverfish, ants, roaches, and many other insects too! Checkout our How to Guides!

Check out our Flea control page for quick access to all products featured in this video and more info! 🤍 How To Get Rid of Fleas In Your Yard It is important when conducting flea control treatments to not only treat your pets and your indoor living quarters but to also treat your entire yard to eliminate fleas from being a problem. It may be likely that your pets may have gotten fleas from going to the park or some place other than your yard. However, those other areas are out of your own control when it comes to flea issues, you can control fleas in your yard and we will show you how in this guide. Treat Fleas In Your Yard Step 1: Start With Cultural Control You will need to do some environmental modification to make your yard less appealing for fleas to stick around. Reduce the amount of shady areas around the home by trimming tree branches and trimming hedges of your bushes, etc. Also, break out the rakes! You’re going to want to reduce as much leaf litter as possible around your home as these provide coverage and hiding places for fleas to stay out of sight. Rocks and woodpiles should be included in your clean up as well. Mow your grass short so flea will be unable to hide in tall grass. This is also a great preventative measure after the fleas have been eliminated from your yard. Step 2: Apply Insecticide Granules Applying a granule insecticide are a great method of eliminating fleas in your yard. Bifen LP granules are a fantastic option and can continue to kill fleas for up to 90 days. Granules are going to need to be activated by getting it wet with insecticide spray. Apply this using a granule spreader or by hand scattering it in those main infested areas. Step 3: Use a Quality Insecticidal Spray You can then use an insecticidal concentrate spray to treat your yard. Using a professional insecticide concentrate and spraying it so it can penetrate at the grass and soil level where fleas most commonly develop. We recommend using Reclaim IT. This will provide an immediate knockdown of flea infestations. Mix this concentrate in a hand or hose end sprayer, and apply to the most commonly infested areas. Those open sunny areas along with dry dusty or hard surfaces like patios and driveways have little need for spraying so please focus your spraying around the infested areas. Step 4: Perform a Follow-up Treatment Fleas are not an insect that can be eradicated quickly due to the four phases of developments they go through. You may kill all the adult fleas during the first application but the eggs, larvae and pupae in your yard are still alive and will soon be kicking once they hatch. Wait 10 to 14 days after the first application and reapply the products so it will kill the recently hatched fleas. By following the steps above you can rest easy knowing that your yard will no longer have fleas bugging your pets and you. We do want to add though that treating your yard is only one part of a total flea control program. If you really want to be free from bloodsucking fleas, you have to treat your pets and indoors as well and then put into place preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of your pets getting fleas again or your home having a flea outbreak. To conduct a successful full flea control program we highly suggest ordering our Guaranteed Flea Control Kit so you have all you need to treat your pets, your home and your outdoor yard. Fleas are seemingly impossible to get rid of. As soon as you’ve annihilated them from one place, like, for example, your house or yard or pets, it doesn’t mean they’re gone; it only means that they already found another place to breed themselves into a widespread infestation. First of all, you need to remember that nothing will replace a good old cleaning. All the remedies and repellents will have a much better effect if you combine them with vacuuming, shampooing carpets, and of course, bathing your pets if you have them. But don’t rush to spread poisonous toxins all over. There are natural ways to alleviate this tiny pest! Take these cool life hacks that’ll help you immensely in your struggle against these horrible pests. The easiest one to get at any time would be apple cider vinegar. Just mix it 1 to 1 with water, and spray the areas where you’ve seen fleas. - Vinegar is extremely effective, but if you don’t like the smell, you may want to try something else. Lemons need to be shredded in thin slices and dropped into water with all the juice and peel. Lemon peel has another helpful effect – it has essential oils in it, which are also universally hated by fleas. - Just grind some dry rosemary into dust and sprinkle it around your house. It won’t do much for the existing infestation, but it’ll prevent any future ones. - Fleas are uncontrollably attracted to light in the dark, especially yellow light. The easiest way to use this against the fleas is to set a small light right over a big dish that’s filled with a water and dish soap mixture. - If letting your dog out in the yard is scary due to pesky jumpers hopping on their back, just find those shady places where your pet likes to lay a lot. If you can, fence it away from Fido, and then drop some cedar chips around the area. - Diatomaceous earth is the most convenient way to get rid of fleas in your yard. First – because they’ll stand out from it too much visually, and second - because it’s lethal for fleas, but almost perfectly harmless to anything else. - Baking soda or salt are perfect if you still don’t trust DE or other unfamiliar remedies. It won’t be as effective, and you may need to repeat the process of sprinkling it all over the place and vacuuming it up several times. - Pinewood sawdust will scare flees away in no time, but obviously, don’t try to use it in the house. It’s more of an outdoors thing that can help you secure your house from recontamination after you’ve cleaned it from floor to ceiling. - Nematodes are small and constantly hungry worms that will chomp their way through your entire yard, eating any bug smaller than them. What’s good about these worms is that they’ll leave absolutely no flea eggs or larva on the ground. - Sulfur or boric acid are fine powders or solutions that are cheap and easy to find in any pharmacy. They’ll be lethally toxic for fleas if you sprinkle them thinly. Check out our 100% Guaranteed Flea Control Kit and get rid of fleas for good! 🤍 Learn more about fleas and how to be flea free: 🤍 How to Inspect your Home for Fleas Step 1: Start With Your Pets Fleas usually first get into the home via your pets. Your pet may have come from outside and brought along fleas. If your pet has been scratching themselves more than usual and has been irritable, you will want to do a thorough inspection of your pet for fleas first before moving onto your home. Run a flea comb through your pet and see if you can catch fleas in it. Step 2: Check Carpets and Rugs Carefully check your carpeting and rugs. Fleas are so small that they often can get away with hiding deep into carpeting. Fleas also like to lay eggs in carpets and this is also where flea larvae is often discovered. Run your hands over the carpet and rug fibers and try to look for evidence of flea eggs or adult fleas themselves. Seeing anything may be difficult but there is a special trick you can do to see things a little more clearly. Get yourself some white socks and put them on. Walk around your home especially over the carpeted areas. Adult fleas will jump onto your socks if they are present. Something you can do to attract them and entice them to jump up onto you is be shuffling your feet. This friction will create heat which will attract the fleas. Next grab a flashlight and check your socks for fleas. They will be easier to spot because of the white socks you have on. They will look like black or brown specks that can easily be detected. Step 3: Look For Flea Dirt Flea dirt is flea fecal matter that looks like specks of dirt or black pepper. Look for it around your floor or carpeting, particularly around areas where your pets sleep. Check their bedding and crates and scan for live fleas and flea dirt. You should also check your couches and other upholstered furniture where your pets lounge around for evidence of flea dirt. If you see some specks but aren’t sure they are flea dirt, putting them in water and checking the color will be useful. Flea dirt turns reddish when placed in water. Step 4: Check Around Your Yard Fleas came from outdoors so it makes sense to check outside around your yard where your pet was frolicking around for evidence of fleas. Using the sock trick we talked about, walk around your yard, focusing particularly in the more shaded and moist areas outdoor since this is where the like to hang out, away from sunlight. Also check under and around trees, bush area, your patio and around your deck and any place where there is leaf litter. Conclusion Once you have done a detailed inspection in and around your home and have found out where the fleas are hiding, you can then proceed to the control phase. You can get total control fleas in and your home with our Guaranteed Flea Control Kit. This kit contains all you need to get rid of fleas and give relief to your pets. More of The Great Outdoors with Joe Sherinski: 🤍 To control fleas and ticks in your yard, you must treat three areas. You must treat your yard (and the surrounding area), you must treat your pet and you must treat your pet’s living space. TIPS FOR CONTROLLING FLEAS AND TICKS - Treat your lawn and the surrounding area with a pesticide designed to eliminate fleas and ticks. Check with your local extension service and your veterinarian to find out which chemicals would work the best in your environment and with your pet. If your property is surrounded by a wooded area, you should spray into the wooded area at least 10 feet. Be sure to read the chemical’s label thoroughly for safety warnings and application instructions. - Spray your pet’s living space. Doghouses and other high-traffic areas for pets can be breeding grounds for pests. If you are purchasing a doghouse, you need to look for one that comes apart and can be sprayed out. Also, purchase bedding which can be laundered. If you spray your doghouse with pesticide, be sure to let the house completely dry before letting your pet return. Also, it is a good idea to repeat spraying 10-14 days after the initial application. - Treat your pet. From powders and sprays, to collars and pills; there are a variety of effective pest control items on the market. You should always consult your veterinarian to find out the best method for your specific pet. Remember, to effectively fight fleas and ticks, you must treat all areas where pests may live and breed. TIP: Removing Ticks Ticks are not only an inconvenience, but they can transmit Lyme Disease. When removing ticks from your skin, use forceps or tweezers to pull the tick straight out. Do not twist or pull sideways. These actions assure leaving the tick’s mouth parts embedded in the skin which can cause irritation. If you see a bulls eye ring around the tick area, see a physician immediately. This is the first sign if Lyme Disease. Before they can bite your cat or dog, these little "itch hikers" make an amazing leap 100 times faster than the blink of an eye. So how do they do it? See the unseen at the very edge of our visible world. Explore big scientific mysteries by going incredibly small. - Spring is here, and with it, the start of flea season. With the warming weather, people and their pets are spending more time outside — which increases the chances of bringing home a hungry “itch hiker.” While pet owners curse the tiny insects and look for a way to rid them from their homes, it turns out fleas actually perform some remarkable athletic feats, like jumping 50 times their height — the equivalent of a human jumping 300 feet — or leaping so fast that they take off 100 times faster than the blink of an eye. No larger than a sesame seed and flattened side to side, fleas can slip through fur with ease. Their jump is so fast they seem to simply vanish and reappear somewhere else. “It's there and then it's gone,” said Gregory Sutton, a professor of biomechanics at the University of Lincoln in the United Kingdom. - What do flea eggs look like? After feeding on blood, adult fleas mate and lay eggs. The eggs drop out of their host animal’s fur or feathers and into their bedding or nest. The eggs are translucent white and very small. At 0.5mm the eggs are about the size of a grain of salt. - Why do fleas bite me? Blood is a protein-rich food for fleas. Adult fleas feed on blood before they can procreate. - Why does my dog/cat keep getting fleas? Fleas are nest parasites. Their eggs fall from the host animal into its bedding where they hatch. The worm-like larvae feed on organic debris (including the adult fleas’ feces) in the bedding. They then curl up into a cocoon and undergo metamorphosis into their adult form. Flea baths tend to kill the fleas currently on the pet, but there may still be flea eggs and larvae in the pet’s bedding. When those young fleas mature they may reinfest the pet. -+ Read the entire article on KQED Science: 🤍 -+ For more information: Why do Large Animals Never Actuate Their Jumps with Latch-Mediated Springs?
