Re profiling a profiled skate has the skate blade's "lowest point" inserted into the AS 2001 machine on the tooling reference brass rolls/balls. (old/new machines) In a re profile with a pitched template the sledge/sled is moved the pitch dimension. This video explains why this is required. It maybe not be obvious thus there are many several clips in this long video. Many of the Quad/Zuperior/Ellipse templates have a -20mm pitch dimension. This means the lowest part of the blade is 20mm towards the heel from the skate blade centerline. This happens after profiling new steel, or when buying high end quad skates from Bauer. 3beltwesty 8k sny1
