Another day! Another update! Resolume 7.18 introduces a deck menu that should help with managing big compositions and busking setups. We've expanded the functionality on the OSC and MIDI monitors, added sorting and saving to the composition panel and gave other panel a lick of paint. Vertical Text Alignment is now a thing in the Text Animator, Text Block and Text Render. But there is more! How about the new Vibrance effect for both Arena, Avenue and Wire? There are new shapes in Wire too as well as instantiated rendering and TextureChannel effects. So much stuff! Don't even get me started on the API, which got a whole plethora of new put's and post's and get's and whatnot's! I have been using this VJ setup for all of 2022, and have gotten to this point after experimenting with different variations of it in all my shows in prior years. It is basically a combination of digital and analog video effects using both Resolume VJ Software and an analog video hardware effects chain (featuring video mixers and circuit bent enhancers). Further below are links and timestamps to parts of the video explaining different aspects of the rig. It is recommended that you not only watch this entire video, but also a video or more from my "YOVOZOL Live Visuals IRL" playlist, which contains 57 excerpts and counting from shows I've done since the start of 2019: 🤍 00:00 INTRO 02:20 PART 1 - Projector, Laptop, Resolume, & MIDI Controllers As of writing, I use an Optoma WU515 DLP projector to throw my images onstage, a Dell XPS 17 9700 to run Resolume (and to edit/render all my videos), and Resolume Avenue 7. To control effect parameters in Resolume during the show, I use both an Akai MIDIMIX and an Akai FIRE. 05:40 PART 2 - THE BIG SECRET (the overall signal flow) Through the use of an "invisible layer" I am able to send visuals to my analog effects chain and bring the result back into Resolume and the final Composition's output. 07:27 PART 2.5 - The Upscaler Because so many of you ask: 🤍 08:04 PART 3 - The Analog Video Effects Chain Featuring a TV One Universal Scaler, Sima SFX-9 Video Mixer, Roland/Edirol V-8 Mixer, JVC JX-C7 Color Corrector, BPMC Fluxus, Coolpics.biz Linearocitor, Archer Super Video Processor, and a Prime Image TBC/Freeze II.
