Human cells grown in monkey embryos spark ethical debate - BBC News

Monkey embryos containing human cells have been made in a laboratory, a study has confirmed. The scientists injected human stem cells - that have the ability to develop into many different body tissues - into macaque embryos. Other so-called mixed-species embryos, or chimeras, have been produced in the past, with human cells implanted into sheep and pig embryos. The researchers says their work could pave the way in addressing the severe shortage in transplantable organs as well as help understand more about early human development, disease progression and ageing. Some scientists have, however, raised concerns about the experiment, arguing that while the embryos in this case were destroyed at 20 days, others could try to take the work further. Human Animal Hybrids That Really Exist

Human-animal hybrid seems like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. However, it's not that far from reality either. Humans have come a long way in science and technology. Even though we're yet to see a centaur anytime soon, scientists have managed to create some crazy-looking creatures. From replacing human organs with animal organs to half-human half-animal creatures, here are the list of human-Animal Hybrids That Really Exist. 1. The rabbit-man Rabbits are adorable creatures on their own. But when they start having human features that creates a terrifying animal-human hybrid. This crazy experimentation with mother nature has been a part of the U.S.A. china scientific rat race. Both the superpowers were trying to create a human-animal hybrid but only the Shanghai science team pulled it off. They fused human cells into rabbit eggs and successfully created the embryos of a terrifying part human part rabbit creature. The U.S.A. also tried its hand at it. Unfortunately, none of their hybrids survived. The amazing fact is that not only the Chinese creation was unique but also the majority of the cells were human cells. It was way more human and less rabbit. 2. Human eared mouse Most of us jump in fear or disgust when we see a mouse. But what if I tell you they can one day help you look nice? Plastic surgeons often have a hard time reconstructing the human ear because of its delicate nature. A team of Harvard and M.I.T. scientists decided to help them with it with a very interesting approach in 1997. Rodents and humans dont usually go well together but these scientists found a way to use the mouse to develop a human ear that can later be transplanted into a human. 3. Half-human Pigs We all love the popular kid show Peppa pig for its pink talking human-like pigs. Well, scientists at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota are close to creating an actual Peppa. They were able to pump human-pig through a pig's vein. What makes these animals terrifying though is not only do they have human cells flowing separately with pig blood cells but also some of the cells merged together making actual pig-human cell hybrids. The goal of the experiment is to understand how diseases from bizarre animals, like H.I.V. from monkeys get into human bodies. 4. Pig-Human hybrid Organ harvesting is the main purpose of most of the human-animal hybrid. Many concerns about the morality of such experiments did not stop scientists from playing with the idea. After creating 186 embryos of pig-human hybrids, they are now working on a sheep-human hybrid. But these hybrid animals are only kept alive for 28 days. These animal organs are only 0.01% similar to human ones. Even it is a step towards success, Hirumitsu Nakauchi admitted that it is not enough to be considered transplant organs. In his opinion, genetically modified pigs got us closer to achieving our goals. Some part of the experiment was caught on tape for further study. 5. Sheep-Human hybrid The University of Nevada-Reno assigned a team to genetic engineer chimeras to grow human organs for organ transplantation. Dr. Esmail Zanjani claimed they can grow livers that will have a near 20% match with human liver using sheep. He injected human stem cells taken from bone marrow or human embryonic stem cells into sheep fetuses. He went with sheep because in his opinion the circular system of sheep and humans are somewhat similar. 6. Human-Monkey Hybrid I doubt if anyone wants to see chimps walking around with human eggs or human monkey hybrid child. The goal of this team of U.S.A. scientists is not to create new breeds of monsters either. But their activities make one question the intention. They claim they are just trying to harvest human organs for transplants and to observe how cells from different organisms interact with each other. 7. Humanzee Some of us have not learned our lessons from the "Rise of the planet of the apes" and it shows. We share 98% of our D.N.A with chimpanzees and maybe that's what makes it so tempting to experiment with it for human hybrids. If we've learned anything from the sci-fi movies is that trying to experiment with chimpanzees like that is never a good idea. Another chimp called Oliver was thought to be a human-chimp hybrid animal in the 1970s when he was stopped walking upright. Genetic testing later disapproved of that theory. That didn't stop people from calling it a "Humanzee," a "chuman" or a "chumanzee." Do you have any other names? Share with us. Which hybrid surprised you the most? Do you think it's ethical to conduct such experiments? Share your views with us in the comments below.

Scientists Once Secretly Created A Human Chimpanzee Hybrid

Scientists once secretly created a human chimpanzee hybrid. We take a look at the alleged claims that scientists created a human chimpanzee hybrid. Human and chimp DNA is so similar because the two species are so closely related and it's been said that scientists used this to conduct a test. Gordon Gallup said that not only was it possible for a “humanzee” to exist, scientists had already gone ahead and done it, and a hybrid human-chimpanzee had been born. Thank you for watching! Yeren Hybrid.mp4

This person is the result of a supposed rape of his mother by a Yeren. His mother went missing for months. When she came back to the village, she hardly spoke, but claims she was raped by the yeren. She never spoke about it after that. Scientists have asked her if they could study him, but she always just asked them to go away and leave them alone. The Yeren, variously referred to as the Yiren, Yeh Ren, Chinese Wildman or Wildman of China, Man-Monkey, or Man Bear, is said to be an as yet undiscovered hominid residing in the mountainous and forested regions of China's remote Hubei province. The Yeren is sometimes described as a large, hairy bipedal hominoid, and some believe that this animal, or its close relatives, may be found around the world under different regional names, such as Bigfoot of the United States and Canada, the Yeti of Tibet and Nepal, and the Yowie of Australia.

Terrifying Hybrid Animals Created by Scientist You Won't Believe Exist

Ultimate fact presents Top 20 Terrifying Hybrid Animals Created by Scientist You Won't Believe Exist. We all can image and name few hybrid animals that created by scientist. These days internet is full of photo shopped images of strange mixture of animal creatures. Though the rare kind of crossing does not usually appear in nature but with the intervention of human these recently created creatures can boost up your knowledge. We have this list full of absolute terrifying animals which will give you goosebumps for sure. Watch More: Hybrid Animals Created by Scientists Part 2: 🤍 Part 3: 🤍 1. Coywolf : The coy wolf is a coyote wolf hybrid found throughout eastern North America, from Canada south to Virginia. The animals are now expanding throughout eastern North America. Researchers believe coy wolves first got their start at the southern end of Ontario, in Canada's Algonquin Provincial Park in the early 20th century, when colonizing coyotes from the west bred with remnant populations of eastern wolves or a subspecies of gray wolves. 2. Boar Pig: Also called as iron aged pig are a distinctive looking cross breed first developed for a BBC documentary by none other than Country file presenter Adam Henson’s father Joe. The main benefit of the breed is that you can produce the distinctive gamey pork without the need for a dangerous animal license. 3. Narluga: As they've called it, is the offspring of a female narwhal and a male beluga two species that have never been known to mate before, the researchers write in Scientific Reports. Even under normal circumstances, scientists know very little about the sex lives of belugas and narwhals. Both creatures spend a good portion of their year hidden in densely packed sea ice, which makes it tough for people to observe the animals and learn their secrets. 4. Human Pig: Scientists have created a human pig hybrid in a milestone study that raises the prospect of being able to grow human organs inside animals for use in transplants. In future the approach could pave the way for incubating human organs, genetically matched to a patient, for use in transplants or for testing new medicines more safely and effectively. 5. Black tip Sharks: Scientists have identified the first-ever hybrid shark off the coast of Australia. Australian black tip shark is found from Thevenard Island in Western Australia to Sydney in New South Wales. One of the most economically important sharks off northern Australia. 6. Python Hybrid: News of a hybrid super predator slithering its way through the waterways of the 1.5m acre wilderness, genetically blended python that researchers believe might be able to better embrace the subtropical environment and expand its range more rapidly than any species before it. 7. Cuban Crocodile: Mating Cuban crocodiles and American crocodiles are creating hybrid offspring that threaten the survival of the Cuban species, which has dwindled to about 4,000 wild animals in two isolated Cuban swamps. The scientists haven't done behavioral studies to find out if the hybrids are stronger or more aggressive, which can sometimes happen when species interbreed. 8. Bovid Hybrid: The American bison and European bison have been hybridized with domestic cattle. This was originally done in an attempt to reinvigorate the declining wisent population. First generation hybrid males are sterile, but females may be crossed back to either a wisent or domestic bull to produce fertile males. Modern wisent herds keep hybrids well isolated from pure wisent. 9. Humanzee: Two Chinese scientists from Shenyang have claimed that they participated in an experiment in which they successfully impregnated a female chimpanzee with human sperm. Their goal was to create a new, more highly evolved chimpanzee with a larger brain and a wider mouth. 10. Panthera Hybrid: A crossbreed between any of four species tiger, lion, jaguar and leopard in captivity. Most hybrids would not be perpetuated in the wild as males are usually infertile. 11. Blood parrot cichlid: This cichlid hybrid was created in Taiwan around 1986 and are produced by cross breeding a Midas cichlid with a Redhead cichlid or a Red devil cichlid. They are usually bright orange, but their color can vary to include red and yellow. Female blood parrots are usually fertile, whereas males are usually infertile, but there have been cases of successful breeding. 12. Monkey Pig Hybrids: Chinese scientists have successfully bred monkey pig hybrids as part of research into the growth of human organs for transplantation in animals. A team from the State Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology in Beijing genetically modified monkey cells to produce a fluorescent protein allowing the researchers to track the cells and descendant cells. #UltimateFact #Hybrid #Animals

Human-Monkey Hybrid

Oliver The Humanzee

Oliver was a chimpanzee born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1957. He was acquired by animal trainers Frank and Janet Berger in 1960 and they observed some physical and behavioural evidence which led them to believe Oliver was perhaps a human-chimp hybrid. A ‘Humanzee' if you will. When news broke of his discovery officials from a Japanese Television Network, approached him with an offer: they would fund scientific studies to be carried out in Japan, including genetic testing in exchange for the rights to reveal the results live on their national TV show. After his trip to Japan and TV appearance Oliver was sold to the Buckshire Corporation, a Pennsylvania laboratory leasing that leases out animals for scientific and cosmetic testing where his home became a tiny cramped cage. In 1996, Primarily Primates, an animal sanctuary, petitioned to allow Oliver and 13 other chimpanzees to be transferred to them for retirement and after 9 long years in a tiny cage, Oliver ended up at a spacious, open-air habitat at Primarily Primates, Texas. Oliver died in his sleep on 2nd June 2012 at least 55 years old. ✅ Let's connect: Instagram - 🤍 Facebook - 🤍 Twitter - 🤍 Podcast - 🤍 Fair Use Notice: This video may contain copyrighted material. Human-Monkey Hybrid Embryo Was Just Created

✅ TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS TO NEVER MISS AN UPLOAD! 🔔🔔 ✅ CLICK SUBSCRIBE Here For More: ➡️ 🤍 ⬅️ ✅ COMMENT down below if you wanna say something profound 👇 = 🔥 Human-Monkey Hybrid Embryo Was Just Created 🔥 💠 Spanish stem cell biologist Dr. Belmonte has created a human-animal chimera, in which animal embryos are implanted with human cells and grown deeper within the body of a surrogate child. The aim is to develop fully functioning human organs within animals which, in principle, may render transplantable organ shortages a thing of the past. China has slacker laws in primate science relative to Western countries, following attempts to revamp its image in biomedical research ethics. The rate of transplantation was incredibly low: about 1 in 100,000 cells proved human. The genetic gap between pigs and humans could be too large to cross successfully. Scientists implant human stem cells into monkey embryos stripped of genes to direct organ development. Yale University researcher: "This might tell us what kinds of stem cells we can use, or certain forms to improve 'human rates of chimerism' within pigs" Monkeys often have considerably reduced organs and are inconsistent with adult humans. Japan became the first government to allow the termination of human-animal hybrids in Japan this month. The findings have validity for Dr. Alejandro De Los Angeles at Yale University, but without the generation of full-grown human organs, says Dr. Belmonte. A Chinese team has tried to introduce human DNA into monkeys. The aim was to see whether monkey brains might be more like ours genetically converted. Compared to human babies, the prototypes took their brains longer to mature but their final scale was almost equal to regular monkey brains. Human-monkey hybrid brains are theoretically highly useful in studying complicated brain disorders. We 're nowhere near scientifically similar to destroying mutant embryos, writes CNN's John De Los Angeles. Let's only assume we don't get another CRISPR infant fiasco in the near future. Why Are Human Monkey Hybrids REALLY Made?

Recently, human monkey hybrids have been made. These monkey embryos contained human cells and might be a valuable tool for solving current organ transplant shortages but at the same time raise many ethical questions. So how are human monkey hybrids made? And do human monkey hybrids really help to grow organs in the laboratory? 🔬 Subscribe for more awesome biomedical research: 🤍 🔬Tweet me your science questions: Twitter: 🤍 00:00-1:02 Intro 1:02-4:25 How Human Monkey Hybrids were Made 4:25-5:45 Hybrids can make Organs 5:45-9:00 Why Human Monkey Hybrids are Controversial Hybrids (or chimeras) are animal or plants which contain DNA from two species. We find animal hybrids in nature but also can make animal animal or human animal hybrids in the laboratory. In order to make human animal hybrids we need to inject embryonic stem cells from one species into the blastocyst (early development) of another species. The stem cells communicate with each other and form organs together. This is how human monkey hybrids have been made (although induced pluripotent stem cells or iPSCs were made). A few weeks ago, human monkey hybrids were made using human induced pluripotent stem cells and monkey blastocysts. These human monkey hybrids survived for a few days. The goal is to make human monkey hybrids containing induced pluripotent stem cells for organ transplantation. Other animal animal hybrids have been very successful. Rat mouse hybrids have been used to grow a mouse pancreas which restored blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. Other animal hybrids (which contained embryonic stem cells) have been made to grow hearts in rats. Human monkey hybrids remain controversial. Although no human embryonic stem cells (only induced pluripotent stem cells) are used, we do not know whether human brain cells or gametes could form in monkeys. This is why human monkey hybrids are forbidden in many countries. Let's see whether human monkey hybrids can be used to grow human organs to solve the organ shortage crisis!
